The Enlightenment legacy is under siege. Defend it.

Dublin Core

Description

Linker defines Enlightenment legacies as "individualism, international commerce and trade, moral cosmopolitanism, freedom of the press and a culture of publicity, technological modernity, the valorization of expertise" and defends them against conservative and anti-globalist politicians. He traces the history back from the main ideas of the Enlightenment to the 21st century, giving an optimistic, and maybe simplistic, account of the European Enlightenment.
