Worksheet on the Atomic Bomb Casualty Commission II
Dublin Core
Description
This is an in-class assignment about the Atomic Bomb Casualty Commission, a US research institute established after WWII in Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to study effect of radiation on humans. The worksheet is based on a couple of chapters from M. Susan Lindee's Suffering Made Real, which remains the best book about the ABCC to this day. The first two questions on the worksheet are "macro" questions meant to bring large historical contexts into in-class discussion. The third question is "micro" questions meant to encourage students to get inside of the historic, if controversial, work of these scientists.
